ASO Customers:

Here’s some details on the outage that happened earlier today. Any questions? Need further assistance? Here’s all the ways to get in touch.

A portion of A Small Orange shared web servers experienced an outage of the HTTP web service 1:40 PM ET today. The outage was the result of an update that was applied last night to some servers and only became an apparent issue when certain servers performed a graceful Apache restart this afternoon for log rotation and analysis purposes.

The underlying issue that caused the outage was quickly identified and a fix created to address it. We proceeded to push out the fix to affected servers at 1:55 PM ET and all servers had returned to a fully operational state by 2:20 PM ET, with many returning to a fully operational state before then.

This outage did not affect email, cPanel, or other service availability.  Our support team was available as always to answer questions and provide updates. We also provided updates and responded to customers on our Twitter account.

We apologize for the inconveniences.
