ASO Employee Spotlight: Aimee, Billing Ninja

Aimee BIn this blog series, we chat with some of our ASO employees to share who we are, what we do, and what makes A Small Orange so great. Read on to find out what life is like inside ASO while we "peel back the orange." Stay tuned for more ASO Spotlight blogs!

Here is some of our interview:

What do you do at ASO?

I’ve enjoyed being a Billing Ninja for almost four and a half years now! My days consist of helping with order deployments, package changes, payment issues, licensing requests, fraud prevention, server audits, and infinitely more. There’s always something new!

What is your favorite part about working at ASO?

The culture! I’m always impressed by the camaraderie amongst the ASO teams, despite many of us working remotely. Outside of our overall cohesiveness while working by trying to help everyone we can, we also have opportunities to participate in workout challenges, tele-happy hours, and overtime “parties” to help with larger work projects with a fun twist of webcams and silly hats. A culture combining productivity with silly hats is right up my alley!

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love to garden, run, and tour breweries. Currently we’re growing heirloom tomatoes, peppers (serrano, thai chili, and habanero), and basil. I’ve been training the better part of 4 months for my first Half Marathon on October 18th in San Francisco, and plan to run my first full marathon next year. My latest brewery excursions included Alosta Brewing and Sanctum Brewing (both had delicious saisons).

What's the top song on your playlist right now?

“Feel The Love” by Rudimental (feat. John Newman). This is my go-to energizing song on my running playlist. It’s a lifesaver when I’m racing or losing steam on long runs!

Describe your workspace setup (Computers, Monitors, Desk). I work from home on a 13” MacBook Pro with an external 21” ASUS monitor and Razer mouse. I have an IKEA Galant desk (with T-legs because who wants to hit their knees on A-legs spinning around in their desk chair?) for a minimalist, spacious workspace. My wishlist upgrade is an IKEA Bekant convertible standing desk.
