Choosing a Web Hosting Company

When it comes to choosing a web hosting company, cheaper isn’t always better. There’s a lot to consider, some of which might be worth the few extra dollars in your wallet. Like reliability (you want to choose a company you know you can count on) and reputation (you want to choose a company that’s demonstrated success).

You should consider what the company offers for technical support. When is their support team available? How can you reach them?   If you’re just interested in hosting a personal page, that’s great – but if you plan to be a major blogger or small business owner, you want something that you can continue to grow into. Choose a company that offers a diverse set of packages at different tiers.

You may also want to look into the number of domains you’re allowed, because domains are sort of like cats, tattoos or Oreos and you can’t just have one.   Is this your first website?  You definitely want to look for web hosting that already supplies you with the tools you need for design and management.

Search for companies that make WordPress and other applications easily available to you.   Maybe you want the price of your domain name included. Maybe you want a discount on site migration. You may want free backup services. These little perks are sometimes what set different web hosting companies apart, and while these may be great deals, make sure they just tip you in one direction or another as opposed to being the main deciding factor.
