Since then, you’ve covered all the obvious cornerstones of your industry, answered a few frequently asked questions, and gave your spin on the latest hot topics. But lately, when you sit down to type out your words of wisdom, you can’t help but find yourself stumped on what to write. It seems that every topic, you’ve been there, done that. Not to worry – you’re not already out of material. You just need to dig a little deeper to find it.
You may want to start with industry news. Whether your passion is food, music, gaming or technology, there’s always something going on within your field that you could share with your target audience. Look at what’s trending on Facebook and Twitter. Do you have anything to add? What does your email inbox look like? Are there questions you find yourself answering over and over again? Patterns that arise with your customers? What’s one thing you wish all of your clients understood and why?
While you never want to copy someone else’s work, there’s nothing wrong with fishing for new ideas by skimming through your competitors’ articles. Because you’re likely to face another day where the creative juices just aren’t flowing, start thinking about future blog posts ahead of time. Keep a list you can easily add to when a good topic strikes!
