Having an FAQ or Frequently Asked Questions page on your website is important. Not only does it provide your customers with quick and easy answers, the type of page itself tends to rank high with search engines. But coming up with FAQs isn’t always easy, especially if you’re a new business that hasn’t received a whole lot of Qs yet, let alone the frequent kind. Nevertheless, you can still come up with an effective FAQ page.
You may want to start with general questions about your industry. “What does a graphic designer do?” or “Why do I need a CPA?” are good examples. You can then lead into the types of questions you suspect you’ll have to answer over and over again. These might be something like “When will my order ship?” or “Do you accept personal checks?” You might also want to include questions that address where you’re located or what time you’re open. Make sure your questions are presented to your readers in a logical order and don’t have long-winded answers. If you find that one of your questions is a little complicated to explain, consider providing a short answer with a link to a longer answer.
Don’t worry about making your list all-inclusive. This is a project that will never be finished. As time goes on, you’ll add more FAQs and you’ll probably take some away that are no longer needed.
